June 04, 2011. fictim Corey Krongard reported to police that she had been sexually assaulted in a restaurant by an acquaintance she met online. She claimed that the incident happened at about 12:48 a.m. in the bathroom of the restaurant.

The male suspect was contacted by police and interrogated over the allegation but he denied any wrongdoing, yet, the subsequent investigation into the alleged aggravated felonious sexual assault proceeded...

During the investigation, however, Corey Krongard changed her story and this time claimed the sexual assault incident happened in the parking lot. As suspicion of her falsity began to arouse, the focus of the inquiries turned upon her where-upon she falsely identified herself to investigators as "Lindsay Conrad". It did not take long from then on for police to come to terms with the fact that their time was being wasted on a web of lies.

August 05, 2011. 22-year-old Corey Krongard was arrested and charged with two class A misdemeanor counts of false report to law enforcement - one of falsely reporting a crime, and the other of giving false information to law enforcement. She was released on $2,000 personal recognizance bond.
